About Us

The Cranford Bookstore seeks to be a community hub. From children’s books, to storytimes, to book clubs, best sellers, writing groups, and workshops, we hope to have something for all. Founded to fulfill a need in downtown Cranford, we are excited to read with everyone who makes this community so special.

 

About Our Owners:

Kate Lydon and Lauren King are residents of Cranford, NJ. Both are avid readers and lovers of Cranford. They envision The Cranford Bookstore as a community hub–-a place where anyone and everyone feels safe and welcome. 

Kate helped to found the Asbury Park Book Cooperative and has a background in finance and management. She has two daughters and can be found walking around town with their loveable mutt, Winnie. 

Lauren was an English teacher in New York City Public Schools and has worked as a college professor and local realtor. She has three boys and can be found hiding in her car at sports practices reading a good book.
